William H. Happich
of GreeneWilliam H. Happich, 91, passed away on Friday, September 12, 2003, at the NYS Veterans Home, Oxford. He was predeceased by his parents, Lewis and Amelia Happich; his wife of 47 years, Ruth Happich; two brothers, Alfred and Clint; three sisters, Gladys, Melda and Mae; stepdaughter, Marjorie Happich. He is survived by his stepson and his wife, Robert and Elaine Tice, Glen Allen, Va.; two daughters, Deborah and Bruce Cobb, Glen Allen, Va., Karen and John Waters, Smithfield, Va.; four great-grandchildren, Joshua and Jason Cobb, Kelly and Sarah Waters; brother-in-law and sister-in-law, Franklin and Mary White-German; sister-in-law, Ruby White, Cincinnatus; many nieces and nephews; and faithful friends, Buddy Robbins, Greene, Raymond Stone, and Bernie Whittaker, Chenango Forks. William served his country during WWII in the US Army. He worked several years at a Ford Dealership in Greene. He was a lifelong chicken farmer in Greene until his retirement.
Graveside services will be held Monday, at 11 a.m., at Sylvan Lawn Cemetery, Greene. Rev. James Bruinsma, of Highland Park Alliance Church, will officiate. There will be no calling hours. The family requests that in lieu of flowers, memorial contributions be made to Greene Emergency Squad, 8 N. Canal St., Greene, N.Y. 13778. Arrangements are under the direction of the Root Funeral Home, 23 N. Chenango St., Greene, N.Y.
