She was born in Burley, Idaho. Moved to California when she was six, by the age of eight ended up in Fort Ross with her family. Attended the one room school at Ft. Ross until the eighth grade then went on to attend Analy High School, to graduate in June of 1959. She married Leland Shuster that Fall, had two daughters, Denise Shuster and Shari Wilde. She was a resident of Sonoma County for over 70 years, was a very active parent, taught Blue Birds, was involved in Twin Hills PTA, Sebastopol Bobby Sox, Room Mom, yard duty at Twin Hills. She graduated from the SRJC with her daughter Denise and received her degree in Early Childhood Education in 1980 and went on to direct a local pre-school for several years. She went on to work at the Sonoma County Water Agency and then at the Sonoma County District Attorneys Office, where she retired from. She was a member of Resurrection Parish, was actively in Cursillo, Marriage Encounter and Teens Encounter Christ for many years. She enjoyed trips to Mexico, Hawaii and Jamaica with her family. She is preceded in death by her late husband Leland, her grandson Nicolas and her parents Joe and Ada McDonald. She is survived by her daughters Denise and Shari, her grandchildren Floyd, Stacy, Kieran, Keziah, Bianca and Kaylee, brother Robert McDonald, brother Joe McDonald (Shelley), sister Linda McFunk and many wonderful nieces and nephews. Also, by her wonderful group of friends she played poker with for over 50 years (you know who you are!) You left us too soon Evelyn! Donations may be made in her honor to Memorial Hospice.
A Rosary will be held December 27th at 7 p.m. at Resurrection Parish and the service will be on Friday the 28th at 11a.m. also at Resurrection.
