Katherine Patricia Violetti
March 17, 1933 - February 26, 2024
Katherine Patricia "Pat" Violetti passed away peacefully at her home in Santa Rosa, CA, on February 26, 2024. Pat was just a few weeks shy of her 91st birthday.
Pat was born to Dick and Dorothy Violetti on March 17, 1933. 'Papa Dick" Violetti was the fire chief of Rincon Valley and Pat grew up joyfully exploring the areas around Los Alamos, Spring Lake, Annadel, and Kenwood during rides in her father's red fire Jeep. The road leading to Spring Lake Regional Park bears her family name - Violetti Road.
A lifelong resident of Santa Rosa, Pat graduated from St. Rose School and Ursuline High School. She was married to the late James Wilkey, Sr, for 25 years and together they raised three children. Pat lived the last 40 years with her loving partner, David DeVoto.
Pat was active in local and state politics and a long-time supporter of the Sonoma County Democratic Party. Governor Jerry Brown appointed Pat to the California Alcoholic Beverage Control Appeals Board and she proudly served on the Board throughout Governor Brown's first term in office.
An accomplished artist in her own right, Pat owned and operated an art gallery in Kenwood for many years. She enjoyed discovering talented artists and having their work represented in her gallery. She loved cooking, gardening and tending to the roses, perennials, tomatoes, Gravenstein apples and Meyer lemons in she and David's back yard in Oakmont.
Pat is remembered as an incredibly loving and supportive mother, grandmother and great-grandmother. She strongly encouraged independence, and for children and grandchildren to find and follow their own paths. She was particularly pleased when one of the "kids" would try something new and different, and always encouraged creativity.
Pat is survived by her three children, Jim Wilkey (Donna), Robin Rauber (Erich) and Holly Spiegelman (Steve). She is also survived by seven grandchildren, Aubrey Spiegelman, David Spiegelman, Natalie Spiegelman, Max Rauber, Alex Rauber, Robin Wilkey, Mitchell Wilkey and twelve great-grandchildren (with two more on the way.
