Roberta Phillips Obituary

PHILLIPS, Roberta Jane - Passed away on September 23, 2007 at her home on Sonoma Mountain Road in Santa Rosa. She was surrounded by her loving family. Roberta was married 60 years to her husband, Jack Phillips. Roberta and Jack owned and managed Sohner Tree Service in San Anselmo from 1958 to 1988, a tree service business that was started in 1940 by Roberta's parents, Roger and Alice Sohner. She is survived by her husband, Jack; her sister, Marilyn Weitzman of Potomac, MD; her three children: John Phillips of Willits, Lynn Dolence of Laramie, WY, and Robert Phillips of Santa Rosa; and her four grandchildren: Jacob and Jennifer Dolence of Laramie, WY; and Jesse and Colin Phillips of Willits. Roberta was an energetic, vibrant woman who embraced life with a gigantic, warm and loving heart, mind and spirit. All that met you in life were touched by an angel that had a touch of grace and kindness. We were blessed in your presence and honored to have been a part of such a magnificent human being's life. The times ahead without you will be absent of only the love a sister, wife and mother can give. We think of you, Mother, as being in a better place, but we all wish you could still be here with us, playing in the game of life. Our days of joy and fun with you are now up to the test of our minds, over time. A day will never pass that our hearts, minds and souls will not be enriched by the fact that we have them filled with memories of your beautiful and radiant smile, and gracious, warm embrace. The etchings of time may erode the clarity of the mind, but the tales of truth are carved deep within us, of your commitment to family, friends and your love of life. We thank you for sharing your life with us, and we will always share with others our life with you. God bless you, Roberta. May you find sweet peace with the spirits of the great beyond. We'll be thinking of you, kid, everyday for the rest of our lives, thanks in large part because of you and your being with us always. The world is a better place because you lived your life to the fullest. Words cannot express the sadness that will be felt by so many who will learn of your passing. You were still so young in your walk of life. Private family services will be held. Memorial contributions may be sent to a favorite charity, or Sutter VNA and Hospice Foundation, 1110 North Dutton Ave., Santa Rosa, CA 95401.

Jack,Robert,John and Lynn-
Your mother was one of the most special people that I've had the pleasure of meeting. She always saw the goodness in people. Her main goal in life was to have FUN, to enjoy seeing others having FUN. I know it is her wish that you carry on with this attitude and to be HAPPY. I will always hold her near and dear everyday, and remember her beautiful bright blue eyes and infectious smile. You are in my thoughts during this difficult time. All my love Pamela Rose, Jeff, John and Wyatt Painter
