Archie Hill

ARCHIE C. HILL May 14, 1924 - May 18, 2009 Celebrating the life of a husband of 63 years, father, grandfather, and great-grandfather. Born in Artesia, New Mexico to Archie and Lorena Hill, he was the eldest of four children. He married Marylin Dawson on March 2, 1946 in Torrance, CA. Archie worked in the crane business for 45 years before retiring as General Sales Manager for Owl Crane & Rigging in Compton, CA. Archie and Marilyn then moved to Helendale, CA where they became avid golfers and Archie served as President of the Board of Directors for Silver Lakes Country Club. He was a dedicated Scout Master and member of the Masonic Lodge for nearly 60 years. Archie and Marylin have resided at The Colony in Murrieta for the past 5 years. Archie is survived by his wife, Marylin, brother John Hill and sister Marylou Steinlight; daughter Eva Hayward and her husband, Fred; sons David Hill and wife Barbara, Mark Hill and wife Leah; five grandchildren and eight great-grandchildren. He will be greatly missed by his family and many who shared his love for life and friendship. A viewing will be held Thursday, May 21, at 1:00pm.
