Joyce J. Barton

1933 - 2015

JOYCE J. BARTON, 82, of Hemet, CA, passed away on September 8, 2015 peacefully at home surrounded by loved ones. Mrs. Barton was born on May 19, 1933 in Stidham, Oklahoma, the only daughter and eldest child of Opal Brown. She moved to California at the age of 9, and lived on the Central Coast where she would later meet her future husband. Joyce married Leonard Barton in 1948, started a family, and later moved to Hemet in 1965, where she remained a resident for 50 years. She is survived by her two daughters Brenda Ciavarelli of Hemet and Kathryn Partridge of San Jacinto; four grandchildren, Shannon Weeks of Temecula, Kimberley Ulmer of Meridian, Idaho, Genea Ciavarelli-Lerma of Hemet and Samuel Barton of San Jacinto; and eight great grandchildren, Josh, Ty, Justine, Gabrielle, Katie, Lauren, and Samantha. She is also survived by two brothers Kenneth Brown and Thomas Brown, both of Bakersfield. Her husband, Leonard Barton, preceded her in death in 1975, as did her son Christopher Barton in 1997.
