CHRISTENA R. EGOLF

EGOLF, CHRISTENA R. 79 - died Tuesday Nov 2nd, 2010 at AtlantiCare Regional Medical Center in Atlantic City. Born in Plymouth Pa to James and Margaret Marshall, Christena graduated from Pleasantville High School in 1949. On Oct. 12th 1957 Christena married Raymond R. Egolf. Together they lived in Kansas, California, Washington state, and Germany during Raymond's military service until his retirement, and settled down in Mays Landing where Christena then resided for 36 years raising their four boys. Christena was a trained lab technician and excelled in any position she held until retirement. Christena was a member of the American Legion Aux. Post #254, Mays Landing Senior Citizen Club, Dewey Chapter Eastern Star, and the First United Methodist Church of Mays Landing. Christena was also a member of the Atlantic Comm. College, Stockton State College, United Methodist Comm. Masterworks of Ocean City and Margate Comm. Choirs. She also served as children's choir director for First United Methodist Church in Mays Landing. She is survived by her son Kevin and his wife Beatrice Egolf and grandson Kevin of Mays Landing, and her son Richard Egolf and his companion Sherry Dorell of Belleair Beach, Fl, and her sister Shirley Madara of Mays Landing. She was preceded in death by her husband Raymond R. Egolf, and sons Raymond J. and James M. Egolf of Mays Landing. Services will be held on Saturday November 6th, at 2:30 PM at Boakes Funeral Home, 6050 Main St, Mays Landing, where friends may call from 1:30 until the time of service.
