HENRY WARKER Obituary

WARKER, HENRY N. JR. "SONNY" 89 - a lifetime resident of Egg Harbor City, passed away on Thursday, April 29th. He was born in Egg Harbor City on October 7, 1920 and owned and operated Warker's Super Service for more than thirty years before working for Lolly Fuel until his retirement. Henry served his country honorably during World War II as a member of the 7th Armor Division under General Patton and was a lifetime charter member of the South Egg Harbor Volunteer Fire Company, dedicating over fifty years to the organization and community. He enjoyed bowling, vacationing in Avalon, and "contributing" to the casinos (funded by his scrap metal "recycling" hobby). He also spent many hours cheering for his children and grandchildren at various sporting events when he wasn't cheering for the Phillies and Eagles. He was predeceased by his father, Henry N. Warker Sr.; his mother, Florence; sisters, Florence DeCicco, Emily Warker, Madelaine Ayers, and June Super. He is survived by his loving wife of 61 years, Anna (Langel); sons, Henry "Butch" and wife, Rosie, Michael and wife, Sue, and David; and daughter, Kathy Warren and husband, Bill. He will be dearly missed by his grandchildren, Becky (Warker) Martine and husband, Chris, Stephen Warker, Michael Warker, Kristin (Warker) DeAngelis and husband, Garth, Travis Warker, Tyler Warker, Kimberlee (Warren) Bradley and husband, James, Kelsey Warren, and Brittany Warker. "Scrappy" took great joy from his great-grandchild, Cole Martine. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in memory of "Henry N. Warker Jr." to the American Heart Association. Friends and family may call on Sunday, May 2nd at Wimberg Funeral Home 400 Liverpool Ave Egg Harbor from 6:00 to 8:00 PM and again on Monday, May 3rd from 1:00 to 2:00 PM with the Service starting at 2:00 PM. Interment will immediately follow at the Atlantic County Veterans Cemetery in Mays Landing. Arrangements have been entrusted to Wimberg Funeral Home 400 Liverpool Avenue Egg Harbor City 609-965-0357.
