David Preble Obituary

PREBLE, DAVID A., 68, passed away December 30, 2010. He is survived by his wife of 40 years Paula (Whitehead) Preble. Born in Providence he was a son of the late Henry and Louise (Lough) Preble. Mr. Preble was an electrician for over 40 years, a former member of the RI Army National Guard and a board member of the EGVFA. Besides his wife he is survived by his children Derek A. and Jillian P. Preble, siblings Charles and Richard Preble and Virginia Pettis and was the brother of his late twin sister Mary Lou Gantzer. Funeral Tuesday at 9:00 am from the Hill Funeral Home, 822 Main St., E. Greenwich, followed by a Mass of Christian Burial at 10:00 am in St. Francis de Sales Church, School St., N. Kingstown. Burial will be in St. Patrick's Cemetery, E. Greenwich. Calling hours Monday 5-8 pm. In lieu of flowers donations may be made to the East Greenwich Animal Protection League, PO Box 184, E. Greenwich, RI 02818.

I was saddened to read of David's passing. We grew up down the street from the Preble clan and I knew them all. David was a little older than me but was always ready to hang out and was really kind to us "little kids." My deepest sympathy to his family and many friends.
