Isabelle Wohlrab Obituary

WOHLRAB, ISABELLE MARIE, age 3, passed away on March 12, 2012. Izzy passed away at home, held by her mom and dad, and surrounded by her family and friends. Although Izzy lost her battle with cancer, she won the hearts and admiration of everyone who met her during her 2 year fight with rhabdomyosarcoma. She will be missed by her older brother Garrett (7), her older sister Hadley (5), and her little brother Fletcher (10 months). A service will be held at the Central Congregational Church, 296 Angell St. on the East Side of Providence on March 17th at 3 pm. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Izzy Foundation (http://theizzyfoundation.org).

To the Wohlrab Family,
I am so very sorry for the loss of your little girl. I cannot imagine your pain and at this time am consumed with grief for you. May the Sacred Heart of Jesus carry your family through this time. I do not know you but was compelled to write. I wanted to share something that I stumbled upon.

Christ Jesus, most merciful Saviour,

Hear our prayers as we gather in Your name

We commend this child into Your arms of mercy.
Isabelle has been a blessing to all who knew her.

She brought laughter, warmth, and comfort to many
And in the moments when her family and others showed despair Isabelle provided a noble message of hope and promise, in her unfailing conviction that her life here may be limited but is by no means final.

Grant comfort and strength to those who loved her,
and those dedicating their lives to the care of others,
who often must face life as it moves to shadows.
Embrace them with Your eternal love through everything they do.

Thank you for the love we would never have known, but for Isabelle's brief days with us.

May the angels surround Isabelle
and the saints welcome her with joy.

Lord God, we commend this child to Your everlasting care.

In the name of the Father, Son and Holy Spirit. Amen

To The Wohlrab Family,

My deepest sympathy on the passing of your beautiful Isabelle. I just read your blog and cannot believe how positive and courageous you all were during Isabells's battle. The strength Isabelle had throughout her fight was amazing. Although I never met her, you painted such a beautiful picture of her and my heart breaks for your family. I am sure she is at peace, dancing to her favorite Justin Bieber song, smiling down upon you all.
My thoughts and prayers are with you and your family.

There are no words that can be said to ease your pain. I, as many have followed Little Izzy's fight from the very beginning. She was so courageous for such a little girl. March 16, 2012

Dear little Izzy,

Your life was filled with purpose; an example and reminder to all of us on how we should endure our times of suffering. How many times don't we lament over the smallest discomforts that life may bring? But not you my dear child of God, you did as Jesus did, you quietly and bravely took your cross, never showing this world an ounce of fear and unwillingness to stay your course. You were meek but not weak, you were sick but you were filled with life, you were tiny but you reached the summit peaks of life that many will not, your visit was short but will endure forever in our hearts. You are the little lamb who knows your shepherd's voice when He calls out. Like the shepherd who would break the legs of the lamb of his flock that tended to wander, he would carry it on it's back until it was healed, so that it would never stray and would stay by his side forever...Dear Lord God with little Izzy you have broken us, so that we may not stray from the path you have chosen for us. Dear little Izzy your life was not in vain, it was filled with meaning and purpose and although we never met, your soul has reached out to mine in the deepest of ways and you will forever be a reminder of courage, love, faith, and hope! God I pray that you may grant me little Izzy one day at my time of passing to hold my hand in comfort and welcome me at your heavenly gates. I love you little Izzy! May God bless and comfort your parents, family, and friends! Mr. and Mrs. Wohlrab - Thank you ever so much for sharing the ever so precious life of your little girl and may God send you His comfort in abundance. God Bless us all and may we all live by the courage, faith, hope, patience and innocence that Your child Izzy came to exemplify.

To the entire Wohlrab Family, extended family and friends,
your saddness now is very deep and painful but in time Izzy will heal you. She is the Father's Child as we all are. He shared her with us as long as He could bear not to have her with Him. She has taught us how to suffer. The only way back home is to suffer as Our Lord did in His Passion. Izzy is enjoying her Easter flying with the angels and sitting on her Father's lap telling Him of all of the people in her heart.
Be sure that she will be waiting for you all to show you the way!!
