John Clarke Obituary

CLARKE, JOHN W., JR, 86, of French Street, Pawtucket died Friday January 4, 2008 at the Memorial Hospital of RI in Pawtucket. He was the husband of Ruth Y. (Higgins) Clarke. They had been married 55 years.

Mr. Clarke was born in Pawtucket, the son of the late John W. and Margaret (Gildea) Clarke Sr. He was a PBX installer for new England Telephone for 37 years before he retired. He was a United States Navy Veteran of WWII.

Besides his wife he leaves a son John W. Clarke III and his wife Deborah of Warwick, two grandchildren, Sarah and John W. Clarke IV, and a great grandchild, Alexander Bricault. He was the brother of the late Mary T. Clarke.

The funeral for Mr. Clarke will be Monday January 7, at 9:00am from the MANNING-HEFFERN FUNERAL HOME, 68 Broadway, Pawtucket, with a Mass of Christian Burial in St. Joseph's Church, Walcott Street, Pawtucket at 10:00am. Burial will be in Mt. St. Mary's Cemetery. The calling hours will be Sunday 2-5pm in the funeral home. For directions and guest book signatures, please visit manningheffern.com
