Joseph Britto Obituary

BRITTO, JOSEPH M., 85, of Seventh St., died November 28, 2006 at Roger Williams Medical Center. He was the husband of the late Mary (Martin) Britto.

Born in Providence, he was the son of the late Anibal B. and Maria T. (Ferreira) Mello. Mr. Britto lived in the Fox Point section of Providence and moved to East Providence in 1972.

He worked for the State of RI as a Providence County Sheriff, 6th Division Court from 1969-1986. He formerly worked for Fram Corp.

He is survived by his son Robert J. Britto, of Lynbrook, NY, formerly of East Providence. Robert was a former teacher, principal and director in the Providence School Department. He presently works as a superintendent in Baldwin, NY.

The funeral will be held on Saturday at 9 AM from the REBELLO FUNERAL HOME, 901 Broadway, East Providence, RI. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 10 AM in Our Lady of The Rosary Church, Traverse St., Providence. Burial will be in St. Mary Cemetery. Calling hours will be held Saturday morning from 8-9 AM.
