Lena Schwartz Obituary

SCHWARTZ, LENA 'LEE', 81, of Grand View Drive died Monday at Kent Regency Center in Warwick. She was the wife of Allen B. Schwartz. They were married for 54 years.

Born in Providence, a daughter of the late Pasquale and Mary (Bucci) Pinga, she lived in Smithfield for 44 years. Mrs. Schwartz was a 1948 graduate of RI College. She had taught at the Sacred Heart Academy in Fall River, MA and the Henry Barnard School in Providence before retiring to raise her family.

She is also survived by her children, Thomas J. 'TJ' Schwartz and his wife, Carrie of Chepachet, Stephen A. Schwartz of Smithfield, James A. Schwartz of North Providence, Catherine M. Smith of East Greenwich, Carol A. Schwartz of North Providence and Christopher A. Schwartz of Johnston, grandchildren, Ariana, Marissa, Kristin, Alexander, Lauren and Ella and a great grandson. She was the sister of the late Joseph and Frank Pinga, Madeline Oates, Nancy McDonough and Rose Byron.

Her funeral will be held Thursday at 9am from the ANDERSON-WINFIELD Funeral Home, Route 44 at Greenville Common, Greenville, RI. Mass of Christian Burial at 10am in St. Michael Church, 80 Farnum Pike, Smithfield. Visitation Wednesday 4-8pm. If desired, donations in her memory may be made to St. Michael Church.
