Maria Carreiro Obituary
Born in Santa Maria, Azores Portugal, daughter of the late Jose Beleza DaPonte and Ines Benedita (Chaves) DaPonte. She came to the United States in 1988 and settled in North Providence. Besides her husband, she is survived by a daughter, Leonor Melo of North Providence and a son, Emanuel Carreiro of East Providence, three sisters, Maria Ines Ponte Sousa of East Providence, Zelia Medeiros and Maria P. Braga, both of Riverside and a brother Joao Chaves Ponte of East Providence. She was sister of the late Maria Joana Damaso, Maria Conceicao Ponte, Maria Natalia Figueiredo, Maria Adelaide Melo, Luis C. and Jose A. Chaves Ponte. Her funeral service will be held on Saturday May 28th at 7:45 A.M. from the REBELLO FUNERAL HOME, 901 Broadway, East Providence with a Mass of Christian Burial in St. Anthony's Church, 32 Lawn Ave., Pawtucket at 9:00 A.M. Burial in Gate of Heaven Cemetery, East Providence. Calling hours Friday 6-8 P.M.

This special service will be held each November to remember and honor the deceased members of our community.
