Waynesboro - Mrs. Gloria Luan (Potter) Dupont, 91, of Waynesboro, PA, passed away Sunday, June 27, 2021 in her home.

Born November 21, 1929 in Mont Alto, PA, she was the only child born to the late Cyrus and Nellie (High) Potter.

She graduated with the Class of 1948 in New Oxford, PA.

She married John E. Dupont April 30, 1958 and they enjoyed 62 years together before John passed away June 5, 2020.

Gloria was primarily a homemaker, but also worked at the Shoe Factory as well as at her uncle's Saw Mill, doing as much as the guys working alongside her! She regularly volunteered her time to the Quincy Community Center and was a member of and volunteered at the VFW, the Ladies Auxiliary Mont Alto Fire Dept. and at Waynesboro Fish and Game.

She could be considered "a tough old bird" to some, but she wore that title with pride. She had a huge heart too, raising her to granddaughters and being a part of their lives as they have grown. She was there for them. She loved Bingo, fishing, Ford cars, and was an avid Orioles fan. She also loved cardinals and loved all animals, especially her cat, Midnight.

She is survived by two daughters: Sharyn Dupont-Morehead and her husband, Mark of Hagerstown, MD and Nancy Dupont of Waynesboro; two granddaughters: Jonica Stevens and her companion, Adrien Snively, both of Wilmington, NC and Shana Myers and her companion, Ryan Arnold of Waynesboro; three step-grandchildren: Aaron Morehead, Lewistown, PA, Amanda and Ricky Morehead of Hagerstown, MD; four great-grandchildren: Lilian Stevens, Aurora Myers, Landon Stevens and Ariel Myers and several cousins, nieces and nephews.

In addition to her parents and her husband, she was preceded in death by her great-grandson, Atticus Myers.

Services will be held at 2:00 P.M. on Friday, July 2, 2021 in Grove-Bowersox Funeral Home, 50 S. Broad St. Waynesboro, with Rev. Dr. Bruce Druckenmiller officiating. Burial will follow in Green Hill Cemetery.

The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service at the funeral home. They prefer your dress to be casual and absence of the color black.
