Howie was one of eight fellow students who shared a suite together his first year at Marietta. He was smart, funny and generous. Unfortunately, we lost track of each other after college, but I knew he'd be successful and well loved and this legacy page confirms that. Heartfelt condolences to Howie's family. RIP old friend.

Dear Lorile,
I am so sorry for your loss of Howie. He was such a cheerful person. We all miss Fashion Lane and Howie's big smile. I still have a sweater that Howie helped Karl pick out. When he brought his car in for service he added cheer to Pound's Auto. He will be missed by all who knew him . I'll be thinking of you with sympathy as Howie was not much older than Karl was when he passed. It's not easy ,but we all survive one day sometimes one hour at a time.

When Howie came back to Chambersburg from college to join his parents' business at Fashion Lane, he brought a burst of excitement to the store. He had a wonderful personality - a friendly smile, a warm greeting. He was anxious to help you with whatever it was you were looking for. He and his wife were a decent couple- friendly and interested in helping the community. Many woman were saddened when the Fashion Lane store closed - believe it or not, I remember the last purchase I made in the store. However we understood his wanting to advance his career. Please know that I wish comfort and peace to all family members.
