William Wright Obituary
He was born March 15, 1934, to William G. and Mary Frances (Ashbaugh) Wright in Anita.
Bill was a peacetime veteran serving in Germany with the United States Army.
He was self-employed, where he owned and operated Wright Logging with his brother Ken for over 25 years. Bill enjoyed being outdoors, hunting, working on his farm, horses and working on projects in his garage.
Most of all Bill loved spending time with his family, grandchildren, great-grandchildren and great-great-grandchildren.
He is survived by two daughters and a son, Connie F. Gearheart and husband Rod, Brookville, Mary J. Shreckengost and husband Keith, Summerville, and William K. "Bill" Wright and wife Jodi, Punxsutawney; grandchildren Teja Hockinson and fiancé Joe Leavens, Amber Walter, Kissy Shaffer and significant other Cory Hicks, Sean Walter, and Brandon Cummings and wife Mariah; great-grandchildren Bailee Hill and husband Cody, Maizee Hockinson, Emmylu Shiock, Kyson Shaffer, Huddsyn Shaffer and Ellie Cummings; great-great-grandchildren Layne Hill and, on the way, Gracelynn Hill; two brothers, Kenneth Wright, Knoxdale, and Jim Wright and wife Shelly, Knoxdale; sister-in-law Mary Wright; and numerous nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his parents; his wife, Beatrice M. Wright, on March 22, 2016; four brothers, two infants and Thomas and Donald Wright; a nephew, Kenneth Wright; two nieces, Kathy Clark and Dawn Hale; and two sisters-in-law, Gloria and Dorothy Wright.
Friends will be received on Tuesday from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m., and also on Wednesday from 10 a.m. until the time of the service at 11 a.m. at the McCabe Funeral Home Inc., 114 Maple Ave., Punxsutawney, PA 15767, with Pastor Robert Haith officiating. Military honors will be provided at the funeral home by the Jefferson County Veterans Honor Guard.
Interment will take place at Center Hill Cemetery, Knoxdale.
