Anthony Martinez Obituary
Anthony Martinez was a journeyman tool and die maker/machinist, with over 50 years of experience in the trade. He retired from Alcoa Aluminum Company.
Beyond his professional accomplishments, Anthony Martinez was a devoted family man, who loved his spouse, children, and grandchildren above all else. He was a beloved husband to Barbara Martinez for over 55 years, and a devoted father to Anthony Martinez Jr (Sherry), Joyce Martinez (Rick), Ron Martinez (Jacque), Angela Roggenbauer, and Gloria Polanshek (John). Anthony Martinez didn't know a stranger. He was always quick to offer an encouraging word. He was a man of his word. He was the biggest fan of his children, grandchildren and friends.
In his free time, Anthony Martinez enjoyed watching movies, playing cards (peanuts), running, and playing racquetball. He also enjoyed spending time with his family and eating his wife's homemade food. He was also a founding member of Calvary Church of the Quad Cities where he served as a greeter.
Anthony Martinez is survived by Anthony Martinez Jr, Joyce Martinez, Ron Martinez, Angela Rogenbauer, and Gloria Polanchek, 17 grandchildren, 13 great grandchildren, Sue Martinez (sister) and special friends - Michael and Diane Sharboneau. He was preceded in death by his parents, wife, and brother.
A celebration of life will be done at a later date.
Anthony Martinez will be dearly missed by all who knew him, but his legacy will live on through his family and friends.

I had great respect for Tony. He was allways there for me. He went out of his way many times for me. I miss him much. Some day if the Lord permits we will meet again. GOD have mercy on his soul.

I remember Anthony when I worked at the Rock Island Lines and seeing him in the Back Shop all clean and working around oily machines he was quite the gentleman and very professional in his work Rest in Peace my friend
