Rusty Tinnin Obituary

Rusty Tinnin Services: 2 p.m. today at Bell Ranch Headquarters. Johnnie "Rusty" Dwain Tinnin, 66, of Bell Ranch, died Sunday, March 12, 2006. Mr. Tinnin was born April 12, 1939, in Floydada, Texas to John R. and Tommie Tinnin. Mr. Tinnin graduated from Floydada High School in 1957. He received his animal husbandry degree from West Texas State University in 1962. He is a member of Alpha Tau Omega (ATO). He married Bennie Mae Grubbs on Dec. 29, 1965. He was ranch manager for Bivins Coldwater Cattle Co. from 1962 to 1986. In the fall of 1986 he became manager of The Bell Ranch. He was a recognized leader in the beef industry and an active leader in the 4-H youth program. He was preceded in death by his parents and a sister, Connie Sue Tinnin. He is survived by his wife; two daughters, Debora Tinnin of Austin, Texas, and Tonya "Crickett" (husband Jeff) Jackson of Jacksboro, Texas; a sister, Ginger "Sus" Harbor of Lubbock; five grandchildren, "Lucy" Branum of Amarillo, Even Branum (stationed in Germany), William Jered of Amarillo, and Hunter and Tinning Jackson of Jacksboro. Graveside services will be at 3 p.m. (CST) Thursday at Floydada Cemetery. In leu of flowers, the family requests a contribution be made to the Masked Rider Endowment Fund at Texas Tech University. Arrangements are by Dunn Funeral Home of Tucumcari.
