George Alden Fisher
HERMOSA - George Alden Fisher, 73, Hermosa, passed away on October 28, 2023. Funeral service at 10:30 a.m. Tuesday, November 7, 2023 at Kirk Funeral Home with visitation beginning at 9:30. Interment will follow at Black Hills National Cemetery at 12:30 p.m. Arrangements are with Kirk Funeral Home.

Those of us in the military meet and develop various relationships with hundreds of of other service members and their families over the course of our service, but very few remain life-long friends. George, and his wife Bobbi, were one of those few for me and my wife, Dayan.
We first met in Physician Assistant "school" at Ft Sam Houston in 1979, and from the outset, we "clicked". This was, in large part, because of George's outgoing, friendly and frequently humorous nature.
Over the next 20 years, we had occasion to serve in duty positions that brought us back into close contact, but our friendship even endured time and long distances.
After we left the service, we didn't see much of each other, but did stay i touch, and every time we had the opportunity to get together, it was as if we'd never been away. Unfortunately those opportunities to get together became fewer and farther between. Despite that, we still remained good friends.
His passing leaves a huge hole in my heart... like the loss of a blood family member... but I know he's now at peace and happy to be back with Bobbi.
I will never forget his heart, his humor or his music. Rock and roll heaven has a new bass player.
My sincerest condolences to his family, other friends and colleagues.
He will be missed.
