Eugene Lewis Lasco 1938- 2021 Eugene L Lasco, 83, made his final journey home to meet Jesus on October 15, 2021 in Fort Collins, CO with his wife of 59 years by his side.
Gene was born August 28, 1938 in Cheyenne WY to Edward L and Stella D Lasco. The family moved to Rawlins in 1940. Gene graduated from Rawlins High school with the class of 1956.
Gene worked along side his dad at Lasco Beverage from the age of 15 until 1978 when Edward retired. Gene then became President of the company and managed the business until his retirement.
Never one to let the grass grow under his feet, Gene pursued many other business ventures including a laundry mat, a butcher shop, a horse arena, a bowling alley, and a feed store. When Gene wasn't working, he enjoyed hunting, fishing, side by side rides and watching the Denver Broncos, always with plenty of snacks in-hand. But Gene most enjoyed spending time with his family at their cabin on Snowy Range.
Gene was a gentle giant, with a servant's heart, who was a dedicated citizen of Carbon County and its citizens and businesses. The lives he touched are many, and no one that had the opportunity to meet Gene will forget him. His giving, caring and love for others is undisputed.
Gene married the love of his life, Darlene Mahan, on March 18, 1962, in Sinclair, WY. Gene and Darlene added four children by birth to their union. In 1979 they began adding children of their heart and raised them as their own.
Gene is survived by his wife, Darlene Lasco, children Kim (Colt) Stratton, Rock Springs WY, Mike (Kate) Lasco Duncanville, TX, Jan (Chris) Gulbrandson, Rawlins, WY, Jeff (Maryann) Lasco, Fort Collins, CO, Karry (Scott) Wilcox, Rock Springs, WY, Mike (Signe) Assels, Brady, NE. 21 grandchildren and 14 great grandchild, brother Dr. Ronnie (Janet K) Lasco and sisters-in-law Janet L.
