Darlington/Leisey families,
"Pop-pop" will sadly be missed but happy memories will have a special place in my heart forever. I will remember him as a man who loved life and always had a smile or something funny and unexpected to say to brighten our days.

To Cindy (One of my dearest lifetime friends) Jeff , Tim, and of course Mrs Leisey, I am so very sorry. Mr Leisey was one of the sweetest and most pleasant people I have met in my life. I was blessed to have known all of you, from very early in my life. Our families had some good times, many moons ago. Our prayers and thoughts are with you. Jennifer (Buck) and Gary Ettel

My sympathy goes out to the wonderful Leisey/Darlington family. Bernie was a family friend for a long time and a terrific guy. I suspect that he's already connected with some Pikers up above to play and/or watch some baseball. I'm so sorry that I'm in New England, with house guests, and can't pay my respects in person. You are all in my thoughts and prayers. Fondly, Anne Guldin Lucas

To the family of Bernie,
It was sad for me to learn of Bernie's passing. He was a unique person and always fun to be around. He was a former co-worker of mine.

Bernie and my father, Bob Gresh, shared a lifetime of memories from playing baseball at 11th & Pike as children, marriages, raising their families, occasional gatherings as they glided through the golden years until the recent friendly phone call. Undoubtedly, Bernie was my Dad's best friend. He will be sadly missed by Bob and by all the people that were lucky enough to have known him. He was a wonderful husband, father, grandfather and friend. "A real man". My thoughts are with the Leisy's during this somber time.
