Joann P. Fox

Joann P. Fox, 91, died on October 3 at Berks Heim where she had been a patient for four years.  She was born in Lebanon, PA to the late Anthony J. and Lillian (Mellinger) Pesta. Her husband, Eugene J. Fox, died on October 17, 1992 after they celebrated 40 years of marriage. She will be missed by her children, James I. Fox (Linda), Brecknock Township, Sharon K. Barrasso (Stephen), Reading, and Linda L. Mertz (Jeffrey), Leesport, and seven grandchildren. In addition, she is survived by eight great-grandchildren, and two great-great-granddaughters. A granddaughter, Janna Morey, predeceased her as well as a great-grandson, Dawson Thomas. Two siblings also predeceased her, brother, James Pesta, and sister, Louise Watson. Another sister, Peggy Ann (Pesta) Flickinger's whereabouts is unknown. She graduated from Lebanon High School in 1949. She last worked at Gene's Auto Service, Shillington, in 2014.  She loved doing work in her community.  She delivered Meals on Wheels for 23 years, was a past president of the Women's Club of Shillington, past secretary of the St. Joseph's Hospital Auxiliary, past secretary of Chapter 23 of the AASP and past president of Galen Hall Ladies Golf League. She was a member of St. John Baptist de la Salle Roman Catholic Church, Shillington, and loved attending mass when she could. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the church. Her family will receive friends and relatives on Monday, October 9, 2023 at Bean Funeral Home, 129 E. Lancaster Ave., Shillington, from 6 to 8 PM. A mass of Christian burial will be celebrated by Father Richard Clement on Tuesday, October 10, 2023 at 11 AM at St. John Baptist de la Salle RC Church, 42 Kerrick Road, Shillington.
