Loretta Long Obituary

Loretta L. Long, 93, of Womelsdorf, passed away Monday, October 16, 2023, in the Mifflin Center. Born Thursday, November 29, 1929, in Wernersville, she was the eldest child of the late Paul A. & Lillie L. (née Krick) Long. A 1947 graduate of Womelsdorf High School, Loretta was a switchboard operator for Bethel Mt. Aetna Telephone, GTE, in Womelsdorf, and an office clerk for Verizon, until her retirement in 1989. She was a faithful member of Zion Lutheran Church, Womelsdorf, and a life member of the Womelsdorf VFW Ladies Aux. She is survived by her siblings: Beverly (Robert) Schrack, Barry (Michiyo) Long, Dorene "Dolly" Reitz, & Donna (Thomas) Barrall. She will be missed by her nephews and nieces: Kim, Mike, Denny, Ricky, Steve, John, David, Eric, Lori, Diane, Gina, Linda, Michelle, Leslie & Jennifer. She was predeceased by siblings: Donald Long (Brenda), Marilyn (Calvin) Klick, & Marlene Long; and by a nephew, Jeffrey Klick. Services and burial in Womelsdorf Union Cemetery will be private and at the convenience of the family. Contributions in Loretta's memory may be made to Zion Lutheran Church, 300 W.
