Hospital.
Bill was born in Allentown on July 12, 1947, to Franklin B. and Myrtle (Kessler) Bascom.
He served in the Army from 1967-1970, including a tour in Vietnam where he traveled around the dangerous
countryside repairing critical radar systems.
In 1984, Bill opened Another Story bookstore on 9th and Linden Streets in Allentown and operated the store until 1997, when he moved into general antique sales. For the last 22 years of his life, he sold antiques, books and vintage fabrics with his partner, Sharon Sheehe Stark, who he
married in 2011.
Bill was a very clever wit whose puns were always intended. He never abandoned his humor even as he offered a helping hand or as his health deteriorated.
Bill will be missed very much by his wife, Sharon; son, Michael, who also served in the Army; and his sister, Karin A. Culp, of Columbia, S.C. He is also survived by daughter-in-law, Jennifer Bascom; granddaughter, Marina; grandson, William; great-grandson, Emmett; and two step-children, Julie and Tim.
The family asks that in lieu of flowers, please make a
donation in Bill's name to The Michael J. Fox Foundation, P.O. Box 5024, Hagerstown, MD 21741-5014.

Bill and Family, I'm so sorry to hear of your passing. I have wonderful memories of your bookstore. Such great books! You had a knack for picking the good ones! My favorite memory is when you moved to the farm and asked me to ride Tanzi from your old residence to your new one. What a special ride on a special horse with you close behind for safety, You were such a kind, gentle soul, persevering through much difficulty. I hope you had a feast when you arrived in heaven.
Sharon and family, you lost a wonderful man. I'm sure you miss him terribly. Bill, Rest In Peace and enjoy spending time with Tanzi. I miss our chats on Facebook.
