MERIDEN - It is with profound sadness that we Mark ( son) and Carol ( daughter) announce the passing of our Mom on Sunday, April 2, 2017.

Born Oct. 19, 1928, to Angela ( Ahearn) and Lawrence Dewey, Mom was a graduate of Meriden High. After raising us she went to work for Connecticut General Medicare, Cigna and Travelers Insurance. Upton her retirement in 1996, she worked for the China Shop, The Gift Box, and Country Carousel, where she made many friends throughout her life.

Per Moms request there will be no calling hours or services. Mom loved her garden and the Summer on the deck. Next time you see a beautiful flower or feel the warm sunshine think of her. Arrangements under the direction of D'Angelo Funeral Home, 22 S. Main St., Middletown. Online condolences available at dangelofuneralhome.com.

Elaine you may think I forgot you after all these years but how could I forget the "Dynamic Duo"> You and my Aunt Mary Fetta used to hang out all the time...I remember you two nuts quite well! Love you much Elaine! I am sad today!

Sorry to hear about the passing of your mother. I worked with your mom at The Gift Box for many years. As you must know, she was very special woman. I loved her positive attitude towards life. She made our work days so much more enjoyable. She will be missed.

I was saddened to hear of your mother's passing. Elaine was a sweet and kind lady. Always with a smile on her face and a happy thought to share. Even though I haven't seen her for a number of years I still thought of her.
