Joseph Soleck Obituary

SOUTHINGTON - Joseph E. "Mac" Soleck, age 92, of South Main St., in the Plantsville section of Southington, died Thursday, July 12, 2007, at The Hospital of Central Connecticut at New Britain General. He was the beloved husband for 47 years of Violet (Bossie) Soleck.

Born June 29, 1915, in Southington to the late Emerick and Katharina (Gercak) Soleck, he had been a lifelong Southington resident. Mr. Soleck worked at New Departure for 39 years until his retirement.

In addition to his wife, Violet, he leaves behind his son, Matthew Soleck and wife, Margaret of Florida; his daughter, Beatrice Etters of North Carolina; one sister, Margaret Yankus of Florida; his grandson, Joey Etters; two great-grandchildren; and many nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by his brother, John; and sisters, Mary, Sue, Anna, Marge and Catherine.

Funeral services will be held Monday, July 16 at 9:15 a.m. from the Plantsville Memorial Funeral Home, 975 S. Main St., Plantsville with a Mass of Christian burial to be celebrated at 10 a.m. at St. Aloysius Church, Plantsville. Burial will immediately follow in St. Thomas Cemetery. Calling hours are Sunday from 5 to 7 p.m. at the funeral home.

"Mac's" family would like to thank the doctors and nurses at New Britain General for their kindness and care during this difficult time.
