Lynn Egorov Obituary
Lynn Egorov went home to Jesus on December 22, 2024 at the age of 86. She was born Amy Lynn Meriwether in Glendale, California on July 9, 1938 to Leslie Seamans Meriwether and Thelma (Osgood) Meriwether, graduating from McClatchy High School in Sacramento (1956) and UC Davis (1961). She met Jack Egorov, an Ag Production major, on a trampoline at UC Davis and the two were married on June 13, 1959.
Together they raised four children in Porterville. Lynn continued her education to become a special education teacher and spent many years enriching the lives of her students at the former Porterville State Hospital, L.B. Hill and Olive Street School, where she was known for her elaborate costumes and classroom decorations. Lynn actively volunteered as a Girl Scout leader, PTA president at Belleview Elementary School, and as an adult literacy teacher. She was a dedicated Christian, serving in Sunday School, choir, missions and Circle of Friends at Grand Avenue United Methodist Church.
Lynn took pleasure in sewing, needlework, scrapbooking, gardening, and hosting Camp Egorov for her children and grandchildren. After retirement, she and Jack traveled throughout the world, visiting Africa, Asia, and Europe.
Lynn was preceded in death by her parents and her sister, Anne Soukup. She is survived by her husband of 65 years, Jack; daughter Cheryl (Rod) Isaac; daughter Cathy (Jason) Willoughby; son Gary (Michele) Egorov; Chris (Doug) Sandy; niece Toni Lyn Muller; sixteen grandchildren and one great-grandson.
A Celebration of Life for Lynn will be held on Saturday, January 11, 2025 at 11:00 a.m. at Grand Avenue United Methodist Church in Porterville. In lieu of flowers, the family requests that donations be made, in memory of Lynn, to Mercy Ships @ MercyShips.org.

I remember this woman since day 1 kindergarten at Belleview. Supporting not only her son as a parent, but the entire class in any way possible. In almost all class functions. She was a regular fixture in my early education and later on always recognizing me as an adult in the grocery store. She made Belleview St. Elementary school a precious memory.
