Maria L. Murillo, 93, passed away on Monday, February 1, 2016.
Ms. Murillo was born on March 28, 1922 in Aoiz, Spain. She moved to Laredo with her family in 1953 and lived here ever since. She was a loving wife, mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother. She dedicated her life to family, doing what was best for all.
Ms. Murillo is preceded in death by her husband, Luis Murillo, her son Luis Alberto Murillo, her sister Agustina Zunzarren, her brother Idelfonso Zunzarren, and her grandsons, Joey Murillo and Louie Murillo.
She is survived by her son Jose R. (Nora) Murillo, her daughter in law, Linda Murillo, her grandsons Jose R. (Michelle) Murillo, Jr., and Javier J. (Audrey) Murillo, and step grandson Alvaro (Roxie) Gutierrez. She is also survived by all her great grandkids, Christian, Matthew, Ava, Mia, Thomas, Chloe, Jacob, Jaiden, and many nieces and nephews.
The family would like to thank and extend their gratitude to Dr. Carlos Casas and staff, Dr. Carlos Cigarroa and staff, Dr. Jed Wells and staff. The family would also like to thank Health Care Unlimited, Inc., Lily Dominguez and staff, for their help, and organizing all the caregivers that took care of our mother, especially Maria Martinez and Estela Lancon, for their commitment and all the work they did. A sincere thank you to Superior Nursing Care, especially Sarah San Roman Gaitanos for all her dedication and kindness in taking care of our mother. God Bless.
Family and friends will be receiving condolences on Wednesday, February 03, 2016 from 5 to 8 p.m. at Joe Jackson Heights Funeral Chapels. A Rosary will be held at 7 in the evening.
Funeral Services will be held Thursday, February 4, 2016 at St. Joseph Catholic Church for a Mass at 9:00 a.m. Everyone is asked to please meet at church.
Inurnment will be held at a later date.

So sorry about your great loss. She was a great lady and did an excellent job with her two boys. I've known Joe for many years and Luis was a great friend and coworker for many years!
