Triffle Paul Ivancovich

1914 - 2011

Honest, loving and hard-working, Triffle Paul Ivancovich, born June 9, 1914, passed peacefully from this world on May 28, in Cupertino at the age of 96. He joins Anne, his wife for 68 years, who preceded him in September. Father of John (Jan) Ivancovich of Hollister, CA, Betty (John) Colwell of Los Gatos, CA, William Ivancovich of Kenwood, CA, Mara (Tom) Hutton, of Chappaqua, NY, and Christine (Alfredo) Jefferson of Hartsdale, NY. Grandfather of 12 and great-grandfather of 15. Also survived by sister, Rosalie Purdin of Porterville, and nieces Connie Byars, Janell Pundt, Barbara Schwin, and, nephews Kelly, Bob and David Ivancovich, and Bob Purdin. Preceded in death by his parents, Pavle and Bozica ('Bertha'), and siblings Josephine Mainard, Al (Marie), Sam (Laverne), Charlie (Virginia) and Melo (Anne).

Born and raised in Porterville, he grew up during tough economic times. He had a love for the land and could grow anything. He and Anne had orchards in San Jose and Cupertino. He found delight in life's smaller things - roses, doves and babies. Almost any sport found his interest, but he was a "49er Faithful" to the end. He was active in the Odd Fellows Lodge of Cupertino for almost 70 years and a founding member and active Parishioner of St. Archangel Michael Serbian Orthodox Church in Saratoga.

Funeral services on Saturday, June 4, at 10:00 a.m. at St. Archangel Michael Orthodox Church, 18870 Allendale Ave, Saratoga, followed by a Burial Service at the Serbian Cemetery in Colma. A reception luncheon in his memory will be held at 1:15 pm at Los Gatos Lodge.
