Aiko 86 Obituary

Formerly of Liberty, NY

Aiko "Micki" Kawauchi, a longtime Liberty resident, passed away on Tuesday, November 25, 2008, from a sudden illness.

A resident of Huntington Beach, CA, since 1974, she was born in Clearfield, Utah on March 30, 1922 to parents Seiemon and Toku Miyagishima.

She is survived by a sister, Dorothy Matsushita; her three children: Nancy Payeur (Art), Dave Kawauchi (MaryEllen) and Dianne Iwamoto (Ross); seven granddaughters: Stephanie Payeur, Amy Higby (Brian), Jennifer Payeur, Mia Miller (Kris), Kelly Payeur, Rolyn Kawauchi and Joy Iwamoto; two great-grandchildren, Zoey and Elliot Higby; several sisters/brothers-in-law, cousins, nieces and nephews.

Micki, who was a homemaker and proud, loving parent for many years, also worked for the Marine Midland Bank of Liberty as a receptionist and clerk, and was a member of the Rice Bowls and other bowling teams at Liberty Lanes.

She was predeceased by her husband of 46 years, Hiroshi "Roy" Kawauchi and two brothers, Kiyoshi and Toshio Miya.

A Memorial Service honoring her life was held at Green Hills Memorial Park, Rancho Palos Verdes, CA, on Saturday, December 6, where she was buried next to her husband.
