Valerie Courtney Obituary
Valerie D. Courtney of Newburgh, a long time area resident, entered into rest on Wednesday, February 4, 2009 at Wingate at Ulster in Highland, NY. She was 84.
She was born on June 11, 1924 in Manhattan and was a retired Dietary Administrative Assistant for St. Luke's Hospital in Newburgh.
She is survived by her loving children, George Courtney and his wife, Helen of New Windsor, Joan Courtney of New Windsor, and Elizabeth Malone of Egg Harbor, NJ; and grandchildren, Allison Courtney, Brian Fraser and Philip Malone. She was predeceased by her husband, George T. Courtney in 1965.
Visitation will be held from 5-8 p.m. on Friday, February 6, at Brooks Funeral Home, 481 Gidney Ave., Newburgh.
A Funeral Service will be held at 11 a.m. on Saturday, February 7, at the funeral home. Burial will follow in Woodlawn Cemetery, New Windsor.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions on Valerie's behalf may be sent to Helen Hayes Hospital Foundation, Route 9W, West Haverstraw, NY 10993-0602.
