Elizabeth Jester

Elizabeth Jester Mrs. Elizabeth "Liz" Jester, 84, died Thursday, March 6, 2008. A memorial service will be held on Monday at 5 p.m. in Our Redeemer Lutheran Church. A reception will follow at the church. Mrs. Jester had been a resident of Greenville for the past 40 years. She was actively involved in the community, where she helped with the Soup Kitchen, and Meals on Wheels. She loved playing Bridge with her Bridge Club, and enjoyed bowling. Mrs. Jester was a member of Our Redeemer Lutheran Church, where she served on the Church Council and as Church Secretary. She was also active in the Church Ministries United. She was preceded in death by her husband, Jim Jester. She is survived by her sons, Jay Jester and wife, Brenda, of Greenville, Greg Jester and wife, Becky, of Greenville, and Drs. David Jester and wife, Kim, of Augusta, Ga.; grandchildren, Drew and Chris Jester, Ben Jester, and Ellie, Nettie, and Lillie Jester; sister, Helen Douglass, of Oxford, Ohio; and brother, Herb Voelkert, of Jamestown. In lieu of flowers memorial contributions may be made to Our Redeemer Lutheran Church, 1801 S. Elm St., Greenville, N. C. 27858. Arrangements by Wilkerson Funeral Home and Crematory.
