James Stoll Obituary

James Edward Stoll, our much loved husband and father, passed away on April 30, 2023 at Mckee Medical Center. He is survived by his wife Diana, his son Matt and daughter in law Jenni of Las Vegas, and his son Jeff and daughter in law Jessi of Erie. He was also blessed with three grandchildren, Jonathan, Brandon, and Hannah, who were always the joy of his life. He treasured his relationships with his brother Ron, sister in law Cheryl, and brother in law Jim, and his nephews Scott, Greg, and Tony and their families. We will always be grateful for their love and support. Jim was born in Denver, CO on April 27, 1947, grew up in Lakewood, and graduated from Colorado State University with a degree in business finance. He was a proud CSU Ram fan and couldn't wait each year for their football and basketball seasons to begin. He joined the Marines in 1970 and served in the reserves for the next 6 years. He was a real estate appraiser for over 35 years in the northern Colorado and Denver areas. Our family moved to Berthoud in 1980 and Jim enjoyed coaching junior football and basketball teams through the recreation department. Jim was always so proud of Matt and Jeff's many accomplishments and rarely missed any of their activities. He often said that being a dad and supporting and encouraging his family was the greatest privilege of his life. He also loved stream and lake fishing with his family and friends and passing down fishing tips and secrets learned from his parents Harold and Caroline. We will forever miss his unconditional love, his constant words of encouragement, his support, his smile and his sense of humor. A Celebration of Life service will be held on June 8th at 11am. This will take place at Foundations Church, located at 1380 N. Denver Ave., Loveland, CO 80537. His final resting place will be at Fort Logan National Cemetery. We want to thank our many friends and family for their prayers, thoughtfulness and concern for Jim. God bless you all.

Jim was the kindest guy, even when he was a young man. When no one would invite me to my senior prom, but mom suggested that we ask Jim to take me and he was so kind and said yes. We had a wonderful time and I have always appreciated it. But then, I did introduce him to my college roommate, Dianna, and the rest is history! We have all been blessed by knowing Jim, a man of gentleness but strong integrity who loved the Lord and his family.

The world would be a much better place if there were more people like Jim. He was my cool older cousin when I was growing up. I have enjoyed many fishing trips and family gatherings with Jim. He always made them more fun with his stories, jokes and great sense of humor. I thank God for giving me such a great cousin. God's peace be with Jim's family and friends.

Jim was one of a kind-strong yet gentle, extremely generous, a U.S. Marine, and my best friend. He was even-tempered and never saw him express a word in anger or speak I´ll of anyone (except his Drill Instructor). He is and always will be greatly missed.

I was so very saddened to hear about Jim. He always made me laugh and welcomed me into his home with open arms. His love for Diana and his boys was beyond evident. Please accept my deepest sympathies. Thinking of and praying for all of you.
