Margaret Crow Obituary

Margaret Ann Crow

Abilene, TX

Sunday, February 23, 2014, was a glorious day for Margaret Ann Crow as she entered into the gates of Heaven. Battling Stage 4 Pancreatic Cancer for some time, she never lost her optimism, her sense of humor, and her wonderful laugh. She was truly an inspiration to all her friends and family.

Born in Abilene, Texas on March 11, 1951 to Dr. Jack and Annette Crow, she began her interest in cosmetology at an early age. When she was five, she had a set of thirty nail polishes and she painted everyone's nails. Little did she know then that she would one day open the first day spa in Abilene at Fairway Oaks Golf and Racquet Club and also one of the elite few to be inducted into the Lone Star Style Committee of Texas.

She graduated from Cooper High School and McMurry University and the Lubbock Cosmetology Academy before opening and operating successful nail, wax, and hair salons for over thirty years. Her customers became her friends because of her deep love and concern for everyone. She always had a joke to tell as her eyes sparkled, and she smiled so big.

Throughout her life, Margaret Ann served on many boards and committees including the Daughters of the American Revolution, Order of Eastern Star, Lone Star Styles Committee of Texas, Texas Cosmetology Association and the Junior League of Abilene. She was born with a caring heart, loved to do for others, cheerfully gave to others, and always gave some of her heart.

To sum up Margaret Ann's life in one word would be love. Her last wish was that everyone would celebrate not only her life but their lives as well. Stop today and tell the people you love that you love them. Tell them every day. Love them and love the Lord.

Margaret Ann lived Matthew 22:37 "Jesus said, "Love the Lord, your God, with all your heart and with all your soul and with all your minds..." It was her love for Christ that made her a gift to every individual she encountered.

She was preceded in death by her parents and a brother, John Marvin Crow.

Survivors include her daughter and son-in-law, Jessica Ann and David Griswold; son, John Trey Pierce; Step-daughter, Patricia Ann Pierce; brother, Jack Allen Crow Jr.; nephews, David Crow and wife Paula and their sons, Jason and Joshua; nephew, Tommy Crow and wife Shawn and their sons Greg and Brian; and many friends.

Her memorial service will be held 2:00 PM on Saturday, March 1st in the Elmwood Funeral Home Chapel, 5750 HWY 277 South.
