October 7, 2011

Roger's large loving heart gave out on Friday at St. Marys Medical Center.

Roger was born in Germany, graduated High school in Okinawa, and served all over the world in his 20 year Air Force career. At the time of his passing, he was a lead screener with TSA at the Reno-Tahoe Airport.

He loved sports, and at one time or another played baseball, basketball, football, bowling, judo, and karate. He loved fishing, camping, or just spending the day at the beach. He was active in Boy Scouts and Sea Scouts.

Roger enjoyed spending time with his family, and their yearly trip to Disneyland.

He enjoyed country music, war movies, westerns, and John Wayne.

Roger was a warm, gentle caring person who will be greatly missed by all who knew him, and were touched by his presence.

Roger is survived by his parents Roger and Doris Barnett of Florida, his brother David (Claudia) Barnett of Ohio, his sister Sherry ( Nick) of New Orleans, his son Daniel ( Tanya) of Las Vegas, and son Matthew ( Claudia) of Maryland. Roger is also survived by his wife Karen and her sons Keith and Robert of Sparks .

A memorial service will be held Saturday Oct. 22nd at 2:00 pm at the Odd Fellows building at 1300 Stardust.

A reception will immediately follow
