Zachary Schroeder Obituary

Zachary Patrick Schroeder

November 25, 1993

January 22, 2011

In this most heartbreaking time of all we grieve and mourn the loss of our beloved and golden child Zachary P. Schroeder. Zach passed away on Saturday, January 22, 2011 at Saint Mary's Medical Center with his family by his side. Zach was born on Thanksgiving Day, November 25, 1993 to Stephanie and Pat Schroeder at Saint Mary's in Reno, Nevada.

Zach grew up in a house full of boys with his brothers Tommy and Austin along with his three cousins Nic, Chase, and Skyler, who were just like his own brothers because they were at the house nearly every day. There were always games being played, sporting activities, and movies to be made with plenty of mischief and most always mayhem. But, everyone always new if you wanted to have a great time you would go to Zach's house.

Zach played and loved many sports; football, basketball, and his greatest love of all, baseball. Zach was on many all-star teams and was known for hitting towering home runs. Zach's baseball trainer, good friend, and former Major Leaguer Gene Richards would always tell him that he had a major league swing. Zach was looking forward to a trip to Australia to play baseball with other high caliber players from the west coast. Unfortunately, due to his constant back problems he was never able to fully reach his potential. However, Zach would continue to exercise and practice despite his pains and struggles. He never gave up his dream of playing again. Zach also had aspirations of playing football again and wrestling. He was a beast of a young man who was naturally large and uncommonly strong. But, anyone that knew Zach saw him as a kind and gentle person who would always look out for and take care of his family and friends.

Zach was also a first class travel agent and a computer genius. He planned and set up wonderful family trips which always included special events for each of his family members. Whether it was massages for his mom, scuba diving trips for all of the boys, or great dining experiences for the whole family Zach was always in charge of scheduling what everyone was going to be doing. He loved to travel and go on trips to Hawaii and Cancun for the great weather and water and to Dallas to watch football and basketball games. It didn't matter if it was just going to San Francisco for a game or to San Diego to visit his brother Tommy, Zach would always find the nicest hotel accommodations, finest places to eat, and the best places for fun and site seeing adventures.

Zach's dad was his best friend, his mom was his constant companion at home and the love of his life, his big brother was his idol, and his little brother was always being encouraged and supported by Zach in every way. Zach' s spirit will live on forever in the hearts of all of his family and friends. Within a few short hours of Zach' s passing the Schroeder home was full of young men and women along with their parents who were all sharing tears, love, and laughter with stories and memories that showed the many ways Zach had touched and impacted their lives. Zach was a special young man who will be missed by so many.

Zach was preceded in death by his great-grandparents Sylvester and Rose (Machie) Uriguen, his uncle Tom Mulleneaux, his great-grandparents Walt and Jennie Bergeman, and his cousin Shane Schroeder. Zach's soul will live on forever in the hearts of his parents Stephanie and Pat Schroeder, his brothers Tommy and Austin, his cousins Nic, Chase, and Skyler Schroeder, cousin Everti Swecker, Nana Papa Frances and Charley Amos, grandparents Bert and Janet Schroeder, uncle Mike Schroeder and family, aunt Teresa Schroeder and family, aunt Michelle Rowan and family, uncle Jamie Schroeder and family, aunt Kerry Schroeder and uncle Rick Swecker and family, and many more family and friends.

Zach, go in peace and we will all meet again in heaven. We love you very much.

No funeral services are scheduled. In lieu of flowers and cards the family asks that you please consider donations to The Zach Schroeder Scholarship Fund in care of Lucky Concrete, Inc., 2255 Byars Lane, Sparks, Nevada 89431.

When Zach came into the salon with his brothers he always wanted to be first. Zach liked highlights in his hair and lots of gel when it was short. Zach was growing his hair and it was so thick you could stick a comb in it and it would stay
