Claire C. Priest

PRIEST, CLAIRE C. (MAROT), 84, of Coventry, passed away at home surrounded by her loving family, on Tuesday, September 4, 2018. She was the wife of the late Frank X. Priest. Born in Providence, RI, she was a daughter of the late Joseph P. and Florence M. (Fournier) Marot.

Mrs. Priest worked for the State of Rhode Island, Department of Education for 20 years before retiring in 1994. She was a graduate of East Providence High School. She had lived in Coventry since 1975.

Claire enjoyed the challenge of participating in many Square Dancing competitions. She did much volunteer work for the needy. Claire had a love for writing poetry, including having one poem published!

She was the mother of Edward F. Priest of Lecanto, Florida, Melanie C. Lombardi of Coventry, and the late Thomas J. Priest. Claire was the mother-in-law of Debbie Priest and Celeste Priest. She was the sister of Joseph Marot in MA, Gabrielle Riecke of Warwick and the late Lionel Marot. She is also survived by six grandchildren and seven great-grandchildren.

Visiting hours will be Friday evening, September 7, 2018 from 5:00 pm to 7:30 pm with a Service at 7:30 pm in the IANNOTTI Funeral Home, 415 Washington St. (Rte.117) Coventry.
