Florence Cotroneo Obituary

Florence Cotroneo, 84, of Rome, passed away on Thursday, December 28, 2023, at Rome Health surrounded by loved ones. Born in White Plains, NY, she was a daughter of the late Gaetano and Phyllis (Portanova) Damiano. She was a graduate of White Plains High School. On April 29, 1962, she was united in marriage to James Cotroneo. He passed away in April of 1996.

Florence was always good with numbers and worked for Goldberg's Department Store before becoming an eagle-eyed bookkeeper and manager for Office Functions.

She was an avid gardener, inheriting her green thumb from her father who was a landscape artist. She was an excellent cook and cake decorator. She enjoyed bowling, bocce, bunco, and loved a good scratch off lottery ticket.

Florence is survived by four daughters, Judy Burdick (William) , Gina Cotroneo, Michelle Cotroneo and Cahterine Dunlap (Curtis); six grandchildren, Ryan Burdick, Jenna Burdick, Cole Ludwig, Callie Ludwig, Lauren Fritz and Kristina Fritz; nieces and nephews, Lisa Graziano, Robert Graziano, Diana Altro, Susan Longo, Richard Longo, Wendy Martin, Lisa Martin and Barbara Ann Cirocco; and sisters-in-law, Susan Graziano and Annie (Jerie) Damiano. She was predeceased by three sisters, Rosemarie Longo, Jeannie Damiano and Joanne Pierce; a brother, Rocco Damiano; two nephews, Gerry Longo and Richard Graziano; a daughter, Marie Elena Cotroneo; and a granddaughter, Amanda Burdick.

A Celebration of Life will be held at a later date. There are no calling hours.

Arrangements have been entrusted to Nunn and Harper Funeral Home, Inc., 418 N. George St., Rome, NY 13440.
