Danny Insko Obituary

DANNY L. INSKO, 85 ROSCOE - Danny L. Insko, 85, of Roscoe passed away Thursday, July 5, 2012, at Beloit Health and Rehab Center, Beloit, Wis., surrounded by his family. Born Feb. 1, 1927, in Amboy, Minn., to Mark and Ethel Insko. He married his beloved wife of 60 years, Leila Michehl on Feb. 17, 1952, in Vincent, Iowa. Danny proudly served his country in the Navy. He was a member of St. Andrew Lutheran Church in Rockton, Roscoe VFW Post 2955, American Legion, and Beloit Eagles Club. Danny farmed and trained racing horses for Insko Stables in Bode, Iowa and South Beloit. "Short Stack" began his truck driving career in Livermore, Iowa and Ft. Dodge, Iowa, later retiring from McCleary Industries in South Beloit in December 1988. After retirement, Danny enjoyed RV camping with his wife, Leila and spending time with his growing family. Survived by wife, Leila; sons, Dallas (Donna) Insko of Beloit, Dana (Connie) Insko of Winnebago and Douglas (Mary) Insko of Roscoe; 10 grandchildren; 15 great-grandchildren; and brothers, Delmar (Bonnie) Insko of South Beloit and Delbert (Patricia) Insko of Rockton. Predeceased by his parents; brother, Donald; and sisters, Della, Delores, and Donabelle Kohlwes-Houser. Memorial service at 11 a.m. Saturday, July 14, at Honquest Funeral Home, 11342 Main St., Roscoe, with visitation from 9 a.m. to time of service; Pastor W. Philip Bruening will officiate. So sorry to hear of Danny's passing. I remember him from years ago on the horse track and years later running into him at the VFW. He always had a smile and a friendly hello. Prayers and sympathies to the Insko family. Barbara Duncan-Kenny and Family
