Jana Scott Obituary

JANA CLARE SCOTT, 67 BETHESDA, Md. - Jana Clare Scott, 67, of Bethesda passed away Feb. 24, 2010. Born Nov. 23, 1942, in Alton, Ill. Jana had two careers where she was well respected and developed many lasting friendships. She first went to work for Illinois Bell (later to become ATandT) and then in 1992 she joined Bank of America in Las Vegas. In 1995 she moved with the bank to Brea, Calif. Jana reached out to all she met, and was known for her kind heart and generosity. After retiring in 2005, she and husband, Robert, moved to Bethesda to be with her aunt, Esther Ruoff. Jana will be deeply missed by all who knew her. Survived by her beloved husband of 21 years, Robert W. Scott; son, Daniel Boyer (Chika) of Sunnyvale, Calif.; stepsons, Daniel Scott of Des Plaines, Ill., and Douglas Scott (Tammy) of Illinois; aunt, Dorothy Tolley; and many friends who will miss her dearly. Predeceased by daughter, Lisa A. Boyer; mother, Marian Idabella Barnett; father, Earl Roy Herrin; stepfather, Edgar A. Nave; and aunt, Esther Ruoff. Memorial service at 3 p.m. Sunday, March 14, in Westminster Presbyterian Church, 2821 Bell School Road, Rockford, Ill. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to the American Cancer Society, P.O. Box 22718, Oklahoma City, OK 73123-1718 or by calling 800-227-2345. A service was previously held March 6, in Bethesda.
