Kenneth Murray Obituary

EAST MIDDLEBURY - Kenneth Robert "Bob" Murray, 91, died Saturday, Nov. 25, 2017, at his residence.
He was born June 17, 1926, in Middlebury, the son of Kenneth J. and Rena (Whittemore) Murray.
He left high school to serve in the U.S. Army during World War II in Germany, where he was injured in the battle of Heilbronn.
Upon returning from the war, Mr. Murray worked at Polymers Plastic until his retirement.
He was a member of East Middlebury United Methodist Church and served with the East Middlebury Volunteer Fire Department, retiring as fire chief.
He enjoyed hunting and fishing.
Survivors include his wife, Hazel (Mankey) Murray, of East Middlebury; sons Scott and Richard Murray, of Middlebury, Robert Murray, of Rutland, Mark Murray, of East Middlebury; sisters Molly Flagg, of Massena, New York, Shirley Dwyer and Nancy Abbott, both of Bristol; five grandchildren; numerous nieces, nephews and cousins.
Mr. Murray was predeceased by his son, David Murray, and siblings Bill, Jim, John, Paul, Betty, Patricia and Beverley.
The memorial service will be held at 10:30 a.m. Friday, Dec. 1, at East Middlebury United Methodist Church. The Rev. Robert Bushman will officiate.
Burial will follow in Prospect Cemetery.
Memorial contributions may be made to Homeward Bound Addison County Humane Society, 236 Boardman St., Middlebury, VT 05753.
Arrangements are by Sanderson-Ducharme Funeral Home.
