Albert was probably the hardest working student in our class of '56. A superb athlete, a fine student, and an all around nice guy. He is one of the few who are memorable to me at the great distance of 60 years. My heartfelt condolences go to his family and I thank you all for the pictures of a good man and the life he enjoyed after San Juan.

My memories of the Woo family go back a long ways...to the mid-40's and Albert's father Willie and his wonderful country store with the wooden floors at Greenback and Hazel (subsequently replaced by his family's big Capri Supermarket...an asset to, at that time, a small Orangevale). Willie liked our Mom, and during the shortages of the War always managed to find a box of Hershey chocolate bars for her (and our) enjoyment. My getting to listen to his sister Betty read and learn English at the first Roberts School when she came from the old country. And especially dear Albert and our fun days at San Juan High. Sadly, I just learned of his passing in our Alumni Newsletter. My condolences go out to Carol and all of your family. In reading the comments here, it very apparent how much he loved and enjoyed you all and how greatly he will be missed. Rest in peace, dear Albert.

To the Woo family, we know a whole has been created in your hearts. Our thoughts and prayers go out to all of you. Albert was such a wonderful man who always treated people like a friend. We enjoyed being around the whole family at family get togethers. He will be missed. Now you have an angel watching over all of you. Love John and Connie and the rest of the Carlino family.

First of all, I really enjoyed looking at all of your old family photos. It looks as if he had a pretty good life, and he really enjoyed time with his family. I'm sending my heartfelt condolence to the Woo family. I know that the husband, father, brother ,family member that we all loved and remember, has been gone for a while, but, he has left wonderful memories with each of us.

Words can not express the loss we feel. My Dad was a caring, loving, generous man. He made everyone feel special in his presence. He loved his family, friends and Disneyland! So many wonderful memories. I thank you all for the kind words and support you show to my family.
Love to all,
Colleen

For me personally Uncle Al was always a great example of the blessings that come from working hard and doing things right the first time but also having fun doing it. I recall the early mornings helping stock at the store, breaking boxes down in the back and skateboarding with Kevin when he wasn't looking. Seeing his great smile made me fondly recall our times at the home, at Disneyland, and reunions. The love that was extended to us was a welcomed comfort to my sister and I during our move to California and we will always cherish Al and the Woo family for their kindness.

Carol, Colleen, Kevin and Wayne,
My thoughts and prayers are with each of you and your families. My memories of "Uncle Al" are numerous and filled with fun: Lagoon, Pugmire Reunions, sorting soda bottles in the back of the grocery store, swimming at your house, him giving me a puppy because he felt so bad that I had to move my senior year of high school, restaurants in San Francisco...and on and on...Oh how I will miss him, but my heart if full of the love that Al so freely showed to me. Hugs and Prayers of comfort for each of you...
