ZIMMERMAN, BOB L., 82
Ocala - Bob L. Zimmerman, age 82, of Ocala, Florida passed away April 29, 2016 in his home surrounded by his three daughters and his dog Beanie.
Bob served in the US Navy during the Korean War. A Peoria, IL native and graduate of Woodruff High school, he obtained an Accounting degree from Bradley University in 1960 and worked many years with Hiram Walker, Le Tourneau-Westinghouse and it's successor companies before retiring in 1998. He spent his retirement fishing and golfing on the 'Eastern Shore' of Maryland and Ocala, Florida where he accomplished a 'Hole in One' on March 11, 2011 while golfing at the Silver Springs Shores Country Club.
His parents, Howard and Helen Zimmerman, and later, Margaret Zimmerman preceded him in death.
Surviving are daughters, Sharon Smith of Virginia, Martha Zimmerman of Ocala, and Julie (Jeff) DeVaney of San Diego. He enjoyed five grandchildren and three great grandchildren.
A Celebration of Life will take place June 15, 2016 at 1:00pm at the Florida National Cemetery, 6502 S.W. 102nd Avenue, Bushnell, FL 33513. In lieu of flowers, memorials can be made to:
