CHARLTON, Catherine
Catherine Charlton, 65, of Sacramento, passed away Wednesday, August 21 after a courageous battle with cancer, with family by her side. She was born June 25, 1948 at McKeesport, Pennsylvania, daughter of Ernestine Stadnicki Caraway and Stanley Stadnicki. Catherine had many talents and skills. Her compassion for others and commitment to social reform led her to become a Vista Volunteer, giving her time and skill to help those in need. She also had a flair for design and fashion demonstrating her artistic touch in many ways professionally and personally. She was an outstanding writer, having published numerous articles as owner and editor of several publications. For the past ten years she excelled as an Account Manager for the Sacramento Bee where she was admired and respected by colleagues and clients alike.

Catherine was an avid reader who loved to share inspirational books with family and friends. She loved to laugh and was admired for her wit and humor. Her smile was truly magical, revealing her warmth, charm and elegance to anyone in her presence. Most of all she was a wonderful friend who touched the lives of all who knew her.

Catherine was preceded in death by her father, Stanley Stadnicki and her mother, Ernestine Caraway. Catherine leaves behind her loving family including, husband Bert Cooper of Sacramento, daughters Brooke Charlton of Sacramento and Lea Hunt of Tampa, FL, brother, Stan Stadnicki (wife Ann) of North Huntingdon, PA, and sisters Toni Bahnak (husband Jerry), of Washington Township, PA, Ava Rokop, of Orlando, Florida and Christie Cave (husband Frank Faulk), of Marietta, GA; stepdaughter, Hailey Wood; and her grandchildren, Kayla, Nathaniel, Jonathan and Max. She will also be greatly missed by her nieces and nephews including Darin, Kelly, Shanda, Nicholas, Justin, Jonathan and Casey.

Family of Catherine...I was an old friend of Catherine from the Pittsburgh, PA area. I shared many a good time filled with fun and laughter. I was around when Brooke was born and was helped with Lea many times. I remain sorry in her loss.
