I'm so glad I had the opportunity to come and take care of Jerry, with Diana (Nana), in their home. He was my brother, and she is my sister. We had such a loving relationship as brother and sisters in the Lord. Every day with him was a treat, a surprise, with laughter, and joy, and love. Each day he would come up with some comment that made us all laugh. He jokingly called me his other wife, and Nana started calling me sister wife. I enjoyed all the friends, relatives, and church members that visited constantly and loved Jerry so much. I saw a lot of loving emotions from JerBear and Nana, a lot of sweet kisses, hugs, and smiles between them. Jerry would often look at Nana and tell her, I love you, honey, and I knew he meant it. Several times a day they would tell each other, I love you, and they meant it each time they said it. Jerry one day kept trying to get out of the hospital bed, was very restless, and the only thing Nana could do was get into the bed beside him to calm him down. I checked on them a short while later, and they were wrapped in each others arms, sleeping; it was so sweet to see them like that. Jerry would often give me hugs and kisses, he loved to pass out hugs and kisses to those he loved, but Nana got the best ones. My life has been remarkably blessed by caring for so many loved ones in my life that have passed, and Jerry is the latest. He was a wonderful brother to me, and I will miss him. But I will see him again one day. Love and prayers always, June.

I posted this yesterday and realized it would be better posted here.
In a single moment my world fell down and my heart shattered, like a thousand scattered puzzle pieces. I started trying to piece them back together only to realize they didn't fit. I thought maybe I had lost those pieces of my heart but soon understood nothing was missing, just swollen with all the love I have for you and it's okay that those pieces don't fit anymore. I love you with every broken, shattered piece.
Dad, there is so much I want to tell you. I'm so sorry for the time I took for granted. You are my biggest hero and I'm so blessed to have had you. There is and never will be a better Daddy in this world. I love you forever, I'll miss you always. Happy Birthday.

The first time I saw Jerry's name was when I was doing research on my family tree. Years ago. He was researching as well. Come to find out he was married to my cousin Diana. I am so glad that she found herself such a wonderful man. I grew very fond of Jerry and am very sad for our loss. My deepest condolences. I love you, Diana! <3

My name is Jerry Dowdy. I hail from Collegeville. Where Don Rowe was the best neighbor anyone could ask for. And Jerry Dean was my little brother. My Mom even babysat him. I watched him as much as I could through high school. God knows and I want the rest of the world to know there wasn't 1 drop of bad in him. Love Jerry & Martha Dowdy

Jerry,
Though I never met you in person, my cousin Diana has briefed us both as we each have battled our cancers. Rest in Peace dear warrior. You have earned it. May your family find peace also.
