Lorrie Guerra Obituary

GUERRA, Lorrie
Lorrie passed away on January 6, 2006, at age 40. She was a wonderful loving wife to Henry Guerra for 20 years and a loving, committed mother to her daughters Lindsay and Emily. A beautiful daughter to Linda and John Azevedo and Larry and Claire Folkes. Caring sister to Kathy, Alex Ramirez and Brandon Folkes. Cherished auntie to Alexander and Paige Ramirez and Jenna Folkes. Survived by her grandmother Opal Lamb and preceded in death by her grandfather Garlan Lamb. To all whom she touched she was a caring, unselfish friend and dedicated advocate. Although born in Arkansas her home and heart were in Clarksburg, CA. She graduated from Delta High School in 1983. As a dedicated child birth advocate and educator she took special joy in educating teen mothers. While giving them endless support she helped them cope with their difficult circumstances. Lorrie was bigger than life and will be forever in our hearts. Friends are welcome to attend funeral services at 10:00 AM on Thursday, Jan. 12, at SOUTH EAST LAWN MORTUARY, 9189 E. Stockton Blvd., Elk Grove.

To my family

I love Lorrie with every ounce on my being. I was eleven when she was born and because I spent half of my childhood in her home she was like a little sister. My fondest memories as a child was dressing her and putting her in two ponytails to show her off. As adults we shared all our thoughts and dreams. The most important memory is out laughter together. She could turn the worst situation into a gut busting laughter.

I love you Lorrie: Aunt Jane

I have known Lorrie since she was 5 years old, I always felt like she was my niece. She was always so sweet and funny even then. She was my daughters babysitter when she herself just had a baby, she could do everything and always smile. She always thought of everyone else first and could get you laughing even at your worse time. She made you feel like everything was just fine and not to worry. We will all miss her forever but we will always have the best memories in our hearts. Love you always...Patty

Hank, Lindsay & Emily,

It is with great sadness that I share your loss. I've known Lorrie since 7th grade when we attended Clarksburg Elementary. We spent lots of fun & crazy times together that I will always treasure.

Although like most...we lost contact throughout the years...I would often run into her "shop'n" with her beautiful daughters and I remember seeing her one of those times when I was pregnant with my twins (16 months ago) and she was so excited for me! I just wished I had the chance to bring my handsome son Diego and my beautiful daughter Malia over to meet my amazing dear friend. Through her passing I will keep a promise to myself and remember that "Life is too short and to make the best of it...especially with your family!"

I pray that God gives all of you strength and that your many amazing memories will help you through this difficult time. "May God Bless you."

Always...Gina

Dearest Hank, Em and Linds,

Tyler, Jacob and I send our thoughts and prayers to you and your family. Even though we haven't seen each other in a while, we still talk about you and just watched Jacob's birth video w/ Auntie Lo Lo holding him for me while I was still on the operating table. Lori was such a wonderful, caring, kind, funny person. She was always there for us through the good times and even the bad. Ty and Jake always talk about Big Hank and the SWAT team. I've driven by your house so many times and we always say we should stop in and say hello...I know she will always be watching over you and your family. Please know how much she will be missed.

God Bless you all,

Denise, Tyler and Jacob Waters

I am so saddened and sorry to hear of the passing away of Lorrie. I didn't realize how special she was to me until I was so sad she had passed. She was such a fun, happy, positive person who left a joyful impact on me. We were friends and played together with our sisters, Kathy & Lanise since we were very young and they lived on Jefferson. My prayers are with your entire family. Love, Ginger

I dont even know what to say. How you changed and helped me is so meaningful to me. You were the one that helped me with my problems. You were always the one that was there for me, i thought of you as my second mother. we have so many fun times. i cant even begin to tell all of them. The day you found out i was going to move to ohio, of all places, you were right there and giving me great advise. As i hugged you i never knew that was the last time i would see you. I wish i could go back and relive that day. Just to see you. I wanted to tell you how i have changed now that i am living here. I have taken jesus into my life, on my own. i know i am changed. you told me that one day i would take him in, you said that it would come to me. that day has come. I feel so much better about myself. You knew how i was when i was really down. I still cant believe you are gone. I hope i can just wake up from this nightmare, we all do. We all love you. You are always in my heart, im always thinking of everything you have ever told me. I know i cant see you but i know you can see me. I can feel you sitting here in my room and everywhere i go in life, you will be there. I love you. please know that.

I LOVE YOU!

To Lorrie's family, Nine years ago, 2 amazing people came into my life. The first one was Lorrie. She helped my daughter Shannon thru a long and difficult labor. After 32 hours, and an emergency c-section, the second amazing person arrived. My grandson, Scottie was delivered alive and well. Lorrie was able to attend the surgery and said it was her first c-section. She was so much help to Shannon and me. I don't think Scott would have made it without Lorrie, and I know I wouldn't have. As a mother, Linda, I can't begin to imagine the pain you are in. As a daughter who has lost her mother, I know what Lindsey and Emily are going thru. Hank, I can only guess what you are going thru. As a grandmother, all I can say is "Thank you Lorrie. You will always have a special place in my heart" Love Mary

Lorrie Guerra is and will always be the wonderful, caring and devoted wife and mom for Henry, Lindsay and Emily.

I will remember Lorrie as Henry's wife and best friend. The love and dedication Lorrie had for her family was apparent each and every time you visited her and Henry in their always warm and inviting home.

Anyone having ever visited the Guerra home could immediately see that their home was all about family. Throughout their home, Lorrie and Henry's lives and many cherished family memories are proudly displayed to remind them and visitors alike that life is all about family and family is all about life.

That is why Lorrie will forever be with Henry, Lindsay and Emily. Lorrie will be in their lives, in their hearts, in their memories and in their dreams.

There is no greater way to celebrate and honor the gift of Lorrie's life and presence in our lives than to continue what she taught her family and all her many students and friends. Lorrie Guerra taught us how to be a wife, mom, daughter, sister, aunt, niece, and friend.

From my family to the Guerra family, my prayers and thoughts will be with you all.

Lorrie's memory will live on in our hearts forever. She was apart of our lives and some of the best memories of growing up. Cousins are special but she was even more special than the rest. She was like a sister to me. All my love,
