Rose Hall Obituary

HALL, ROSE MERCEDES
"MERCY"
Born September 23, 1926 in Proctor, WV, Mom was gently lifted away on June 4, 2003, when God made a visit to his garden looking for His special Rose. She was preceded in death by eleven days by Charles, her husband of 57 years. Mom is survived by her children and their spouses Charles, Jr. and Rita; Tom and Beverly; Kathleen and David Valdez; and Jolena and Jeff Russo; eight grandchildren and thirteen great- grandchildren. She also leaves three brothers, Ben, Nick, and Victor Frohnapfel, and two sisters, Agnes Kernan and Jane Barth, numerous nieces and nephews, and many friends. Rose and Charles settled in the Sacramento area in 1946 to begin raising their family. She worked for the State Department of Motor Vehicles for over 20 years. After retiring, she enjoyed traveling to Europe with her church group. Mom was a devoted and generous wife, mother, and friend whose special qualities were uncommon sweetness and forgiveness. Children, pets, and plants benefited from her loving attention. Her great cooking was a rally-call for family and friends who jostled with one another to sample her specialties. Mom was a master at crochet, knitting, and sewing and made beautiful clothing, as well as vestments for the clergy of her church. Family and friends are invited to attend a Memorial Service on Friday, June 13, at 10:00 AM, St. Anne's Church, 7724 24th Street, Sacramento. In lieu of flowers, remembrances may be made to Saint Anne's Altar Society. Thanks to Dr. Jody Gordon, Dr. Trina Prather, and the exceptional staff of Sutter General Hospital for their kind attention to our beloved Mom.

June 11, 2003

Our thoughts are with Tom, Bev and all the family through this difficult time.

When trouble comes, we often say,

"Why did this have to be?"

But blessings come in many ways

that sometimes we can't see.

Everything that happens

is part of God's eternal plan.

Today what seems a mystery

in time we'll understand.

Remember prayers are with you

to give you strength today.

Call on those of us who love you

to share with you along the way.

Love, Tony & Cynthia Damiano

For being my sister,

I thank you and love you.

I will sadly miss you.
