Thomas Shinners Obituary
He was born Dec. 29, 1935, in Salamanca, to the late Ralph and Florence Shinners. Thomas married Donna Watson, the love of his life, in 2021.
Thomas joined the U.S. Marines after graduating high school and was honorably discharged. He then moved to Florida and worked for the United States Postal Service in New Smyrna Beach for 35 years.
Tom was a car enthusiast and loved to frequent local car shows with his close friend, Larry. He enjoyed fishing, spending time with his family and friends, listening to good music and watching old movies.
Thomas is served by his step-son, Marc Watson; his nephew, Brandon (Julie) Smith; his niece, Syna (Keith Prasse); his sister, Trudy Hobgood; nieces Gina (Greg George) and Erin (Steve McDevitt); as well as numerous cousins and distant family members.
In addition to his parents, he is pre-deceased by his younger sister, Karen Smith, and his wife, Donna.
A service for Thomas will be held at 1 p.m. Sunday, July 16 at NSB-Edgewater Elks Lodge, 820 W. Park Ave., Edgewater, with Honor Guard to follow. Lunch will be served after the service.
