Doris Annette Lewis, 78, of Rockwell, passed away on Monday, February 8, 2021 at her home in Rockwell. She was born on April 16, 1942 in Faith, NC to the late Lawrence and Nettie Watts. Doris worked as a Materials Manager for Oakwood Homes where she was beloved by many. She was a member of First Baptist Church of Rockwell and she enjoyed reading (especially her bible), going on trips to the beach, and spending time with her family. She adored her grandchildren and great-grandchildren. In addition to her parents, Doris was preceded in death by her husband, Homer Sydney Lewis; daughter, Susan Hilton; son, Michael Kevin Lewis; and brothers, Jerry Putnam, Tom Putnam, and David Watts. Doris is survived by son, Sydney “Butch” (Alesia) Lewis of Salisbury, NC; daughter, Natacha Lewis of Rockwell; sister, Sarah Young of Statesville; grandsons, Jared (Cynthia) Hilton of Gold Hill, Matthew Hilton of Rockwell, Brad (Melinda) Boling of Faith, and Collin Lewis of Faith; granddaughters, Shasta Hilton and Sydney Lewis; great-grandchildren, Brayden and Coen Hilton, Cooper Boling, and Dawn Clawson; and many nephews and nieces. Arrangements: The family will receive friends on Friday, February 12, 2021 at First Baptist Church of Rockwell from 1:00 pm to 2:00 pm. The funeral service will be held following the visitation at 2:00 pm at the Church. The burial will follow in the church cemetery. Memorial: Memorials may be made to First Baptist Church Rockwell.
